proposal

The idea I came up with is a simple thought but will probably be a complex project. I want to create an animation using lightwave and basically focus on the general movement of my character. I want to make a futuristic military soldier except it isn’t a human; it is a robot or android with high capabilities like a soldier would have but more advanced. There won’t be guns coming out of the robot left and right I wanted to keep it as just a “human figure” but it is not a human. In other words, it will be a robot that can walk like a human and have the intelligence of a human but its agility is far greater than a humans.

When I animate him I want to capture some moves that a human can’t do, like a flip in the air or something along those lines. I either will make a story out of it by having it stealth up to a terrorist fortress and take out just a few bad guys showing its maneuvers. The surrounding would be a wood line and he comes into a field which leads to the fort. This will be a clear night sky kind of thing with the glow of a moon. Or I will make a movie clip of him doing all sorts of random animated moves that we might think a future robotic marine might do.

Timeline:

9/13> start modeling, animated moves planned out. Storyboard done!
9/20> marine robot almost all complete... Work on scenery and other objects.
9/27> model of marine robot done. Work on other scenery and objects..
10/4> have watch tower done… work on dummies. Have animation ideas ready, plotted etc..
10/11> work on dummies, Starting animating marine.
10/18> modeling dummies cont’d, and animating marine
10/25> dummies done?!, continue animating, start animation of dummies.
11/1> dummies done!.. Animate!
11/8> animate!!
11/15> animate!!
11/22> animation of dummies done?!
11/29> animating of dummies should be done, continue with animating marine.
12/6> COMPLETE

Software used:

-lightwave (layout/modeler)

Textures: smooth chrome medal/ or rough scratched metal. Has the marine logo on his left and right arm. Symbol of marines in the middle of chest too.
Sound: the sound of a machine... Or robot. Certain sound effects. (Not yet decided if being used)
Bone structure/movement: I.K. booster

Research: On soldiers and androids/robots…

Concerns: not sure how I’m going to go about doing sound... haven’t taking the sound class yet, I just might focus on the animation part…haven’t decided yet.
